Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what Penny Radar (a product of Access Alerts LLC) collects and how it's used. The short version: no sign-up, no real names, and your exact location never leaves your phone.
What stays on your phone
- Your precise location and your walking trail. Used to draw today's wander trail on your own screen. Never uploaded.
- Your step count, read from your phone's motion sensor for the "ground covered" stat. Never uploaded.
What we receive
- A coarse map area. Your phone turns its location into a large hexagon about 0.7 km² in size and sends only that hexagon's ID, with the time. We use it to estimate how busy the area is and score your catches. We keep only your most recent hexagon (to stop teleport cheating), not a history of where you've been.
- A random device ID created by the App, so your totals stay yours. It isn't linked to your name, email, or phone number. We store it in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Your username and daily totals, including a morning/midday/evening breakdown. Kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
Service providers
- Vercel and Supabase host our servers and database.
- OpenStreetMap (via the Overpass service) tells us how many shops and places are in a hexagon. We send them the hexagon's boundaries only, never anything about you.
- Google AdMob shows ads if you don't have the Annual Pass. We request non-personalized ads. AdMob may still collect device information as described in Google's privacy policy.
- Apple / Google process Annual Pass payments, and RevenueCat confirms whether your pass is active. We never see your card details.
What we never collect
Penny Radar never reads, stores, or estimates your real bank, card, or purchase information. Nothing in the App is connected to any financial account. We do not sell your data.
Your choices
Tap Delete my data on the Profile tab to permanently erase your username, totals, and history from our servers and your phone, immediately. You can also turn off location access in your phone's settings at any time, though the radar needs it to work.
Children
Penny Radar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, contact us and we'll delete their data.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
